This work package uses in-depth interviews over a period of time to explore people’s experiences of their complex emotions to understand how emotions vary and what impacts them. The interviews will involve asking people about their lives and situations, and how these have influenced their experiences of complex emotions. We are interested in exploring if patterns of complex emotions differ between individuals and groups.
The interviews explore people’s experiences of care for complex emotions. There is a focus on the relationships between clinicians and service users and how these impact people’s journeys. The interviews also focus on how individual characteristics, such as someone’s race or gender identity, impact on the care they receive, as we know that people from marginalised communities often don’t receive the standard of care that they should.
